My boyfriend has been in LA for the last few weeks, so I sent him this note today:

I have been really busy working on more illustrations for short intro videos for different start-ups in SF.  Here are a few still shots from the videos.  

I heart yoga.  This is a sample drawing I did of a yoga position I can only dream of actually doing.

The reason I have been sort of MIA this year is my veggie beard series, which just went up for sale on Buy Some Damn Art today!  Please take a look at the series and also the other shows that are up right now :)

Wow, I can't believe I have not blogged since January! Yikes!  I thought that I would share a couple of things that I have been working on.  I made this website background for my boyfriend's new production company, Down With the Ship Media.

Also, I made this little painting for him.

I am the kind of person who preemptively strikes on buying a new tube of mascara, bottle of stain remover, carton of eggs before the old one is out.  I treat my sketchbooks the same way.  I have rarely filled a whole one up, but usually have a bunch going at the same time.  My last project filled up one of my sketchbooks and I thought I would share a few of my sketches from it before I put it on the shelf.

I have something old and something new to share today.  These are the two paintings that are hanging in my bathroom, I did them pretty quickly when I first moved into my SF apartment a few years ago.  So I guess they were my first SF paintings! 

I have recently been helping my boyfriend, who is a filmmaker, with some illustrated how-to videos.  It has been so incredibly fun and different from my usual work flow that I am somehow obsessed with animation now.  I am hoping that we can create a short animated film one of these days.  Here are a couple stills from the first one that we worked on for a company named mPowa.  Very cool product and client - I hope you like them!

It is my boyfriend's birthday tomorrow and I made him a birthday beard card. Check it out!

My good friend, Amita just started a photography blog, so I whipped up this banner for her!  Her guidelines were a super simple design, but with personality--I think this accomplishes the goal!  If you want to check out her blog, go here - My Little Picture Box.

There are a lot of fun contests via websites like threadless and modcloth going on right now.  I decided to submit a design to the Make the Cut Contest via ModCloth.

The design was inspired by this moodboard.

I also finished a little illustration I made for my boyfriend's soccer team today.  It is a little spoof on Inglorious Basterds.  Not really my style, but hopefully the boys like it.

I have been working on a series of paintings the last couple months of men with veggie beards.  When I started this project I was on a raw vegan kick that I have unfortunately abandoned.  Still super into this project and have no plans to stop making these guys.

        

And the beginnings of my third guy, who is going to have a nice white beard of onions and corn!

I am feeling the fall colors this week.  The first drawing is just a doodle and the second is a poster I created for my friend's birthday party.

In the spirit of Halloween and my Day of the Dead inspired costume I am posting some inspiration here.  This is a cute print from Nan Lawson Illustration.  

I have always loved Jose Pulido and own a few of his prints.  I was very sad that he wasn't at the Renegade Craft Fair this year in SF!
